washed
an audiovisual poem of white power in black music.
written, directed, and photographed by Marcus Hardy
This film is an AUDIOVISUAL that seeks to document the various disparities faced by black musicians within capitalism.
Using videos from rappers like Biggie, Meek Millz, and Childish Gambino. The video shows saturated, vivid landscapes of St. John's University, a Predominantly White Institution (PWI).
This contrast of marcus, who is an Afro-Latino, being an artist in a PWI, shows the depth of where Marcus is coming from in feeling the struggle of showcasing his voice in an environment that wasn't originally for him.
